Here’s why.

I have used Gmail since 2004, when it was still in beta and you had to get an invite code just to sign up. I remember the first time I signed into my account: it felt like getting access to some kind of secret club or something! It was so cool that there were no ads at all back then; they didn’t even show ads on their homepage until 2008! (And now they’re everywhere.) And the search box always worked great too—it was fast and accurate right from the start
