I enjoy working on challenging problems and building things that people love to use.

I’ve been developing software for over 10 years now, starting as a hobbyist programmer at the age of 12. After graduating from high school I went to study computer science at the University of Waterloo where I worked on several open source projects including OpenCV (a popular computer vision library), PyPy (an implementation of Python written in Python) and Jupyter Notebook (the interactive notebook format used by many data scientists). While studying at Waterloo I also spent time working as an intern for Google Summer of Code, Mozilla Research Labs and Microsoft Research Cambridge
