The writing style has improved and I enjoyed it more than the first book. However, there are still some issues that prevent me from giving this series a higher rating.

The story picks up where we left off in the previous instalment: after being attacked by an unknown enemy on their way to Blackwood Manor, our heroes have been separated into two groups: Alina & Mal and Nikolai & Zoya. In order to find each other again they need to go through many obstacles which will test them physically as well as mentally – if they don’t kill each other before that happens..
