I’ve been using Vim for about 5 years now, and I love it. It’s not perfect by any means, but it’s the best tool that I have found so far for writing code quickly and efficiently. The only problem is that many of the projects that I work on are written in languages other than C/C++ (which Vim was originally designed for), which makes things a little bit more difficult. In order to use these languages effectively with vim, you need plugins like ctrlp , tagbar , nerdtree , etc., which make working with files much easier
