I used to be an academic, and before that I was in the military.

I am currently working on the Chrome team at Google, where I work on performance optimizations for web applications. Before that, I worked on optimizing JavaScript execution speed in V8 (the engine behind Chrome). Prior to joining Google, I was a postdoc in the Computer Science department at Stanford University working with Professor John Reppy . My PhD advisor was Professor Michael Hicks , who is now my colleague here at Google!

Before joining academia full-time, I served as an officer in the United States Air Force for six years
