I’m a software engineer, and I’ve been using Vim for about 15 years.

I love it, but I also use Emacs on the side because of its great support for Lisp development. In this post, I’ll explain why you should try out both editors if you haven’t already.

The first time that someone told me to try out Emacs was in 2004 or so. It wasn’t my first exposure to the editor; some friends had tried to get me into it before then, but they didn’t have much success due to my stubbornness and ignorance at the time (and probably some other reasons)
