I don’t like the fact that it is now “required reading,” and I feel like this was done to force people to read something they might not otherwise have chosen to read. It doesn’t make sense for me to spend time on a book I wouldn’t normally choose when there are so many other books out there that I would love to read instead. If you want us all to be well-read, then why do we need an assigned book? Why can we not just pick our own books
