I’m going to be working on a new project called “GitHub for Poets.

” It will be an open source, self-hosted version of GitHub that you can run on your own server or in the cloud.

I have been thinking about this idea for a while now, and I think it is finally time to start work on it. The goal is to create something that anyone can use as their own personal Git/GitHub replacement without having to worry about hosting costs or scaling issues. You should be able to install it locally and then clone your repositories from GitHub with no problems at all (and vice versa)
