An SSL vulnerability exists in Apache Axis which is used by InfoSphere Guardium Data Redaction to process HTTPS requests from the Redaction SOAP API .

**DESCRIPTION:**
Apache Axis2/Java, as used in multiple products, could allow a remote attacker to conduct spoofing attacks, caused by the failure to verify that the server hostname matches a domain name in the subject’s Common Name (CN) field of the X.509 certificate. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability using man-in-the-middle techniques to spoof an SSL server and launch further attacks against a vulnerable target.

Please update to the latest release 2.5.1 which is available on IBM Passport Advantage.

Delete file **%IBM_REDACTION_HOME%serverlibaxis2-1.4.6083.jar** to disable the Redaction SOAP API .
