I want to be able to use the same codebase for both server and client, but I don’t know how.

I’m working on a game in C++/Qt5 with QML as my UI language. The game is multiplayer-only (no singleplayer), so I need a server component that can handle multiple players at once. My first idea was to simply have one executable file that would run the server and also contain all of the logic for running it, while having another executable file that would run on each player’s computer and connect to the server via TCP/IP or something similar
