I was recently asked about how I would monetize my own open source projects if I were starting from scratch today. This question came after I had given a talk on the topic of sustainability in open source at PyCon 2015 (slides). The talk covered some of the common ways that developers make money off their projects: consulting, training, support contracts, etc., but didn’t mention any specific services or platforms that might help with this process
