I’ve been reading this tutorial on how to use an LCD screen with an Arduino Uno, but for some reason when I upload the code into the board nothing happens. The red power light comes on then goes off after about 30 seconds or so, but no other lights come on and there is no response from the board (no beeps).

Here’s what I have done:

1) Downloaded latest version of Arduino IDE (1.0.5) for Mac OSX 10
