The most important thing to do is to make sure that your data is in a good state, and not corrupt or missing. This means running a backup before you start messing with the database! If you don’t have one already, I recommend using Time Machine for this purpose.
2. Make sure that all of your devices are up-to-date with the latest version of iOS (currently 11). Older versions may cause issues when restoring from an encrypted backup on newer versions of iOS. You can check which version you’re currently running by going into Settings > General > About . If it’s anything lower than 11, update it now
