The author is a journalist and he writes like one: its very easy to read and there are some interesting facts in here. The downside is that this isnt really a story; its just an overview of all major events from prehistory until today. There are no characters, no plot just facts after facts after facts (and some jokes). It was fun to read but I wouldnt recommend it as your first book on history
