I’m a newbie and I want to know what the best way is to get started with learning how to program.

I am currently in high school, and I have been interested in programming for quite some time now. This year, my AP Computer Science class has finally gotten me excited about it again! However, we are only allowed to use Java (and we can’t even use Eclipse or NetBeans), so that kind of kills my excitement a little bit
