I have been involved with various open source projects for over 10 years, including Django, jQuery, and Wikimedia.
I am currently working on my PhD at UC Berkeley studying how people use online tools to organize themselves politically. My research focuses on the ways that these technologies can be used to support political participation by historically marginalized groups (e.g., women, trans* folks) as well as those whose voices are often not heard (e.g., youth)
