I started programming when I was 12 years old. My first computer was an Amiga 500 with a whopping 1MB of RAM (yes, that’s megabytes). It had no hard drive; instead, you loaded programs from floppy disks into the machine’s memory. The operating system came on two floppies: one to load the OS itself and another to load games or other applications. You could also write your own programs in Basic if you wanted to do something more complex than what came pre-loaded on the machine by Commodore International (the company behind the Amiga)
