Google recently announced that they were releasing a beta version of their new mapping API, which is based on HTML5 rather than Flash. This has been getting some attention in the tech press lately (see here for an example), but as far as I can tell no one has really had much time to play with it yet. So today I spent a couple hours hacking together a little demo using this API to see what it was like. Here are my thoughts:
